Reflecting on my Digital Identity


Googling Myself

1. Why do you think were there so many or so few hits about you?
      I guess it's because I'm not that famous

2.Would you prefer to have more or less hits,and why?
      I would prefer to have more hits so that I could show off to my friends

3.What might the benefits of having lots of hits on Google be in the future?
      People could know me and research on me without having to talk to me

4.What potential downsides are there having many hits on Google?
     Our personal details could easily be acquired by the public

5.Explain why your Google-Presence may help or hinder getting a job after a degree?
     My Google-Presence would help me getting a job after I graduate because it shows who I really am and they will know me without any boundaries.

1.What information is available on this public profile?Are there photos visible?Are your interests visible?
    On my public profile, information such as my name, my birth date, my photos and my interests       such as in music and movies are visible

2.What makes you uncomfortable about the visibility of this information, and why?
    I'm uncomfortable if a person who does not know me personally use the information available to stalk me because it is after all my privacy and I would like strangers to know about it

3.Explain why you would be happy/unhappy for a potential employer too see this page?
    I would be happy because my employer would know my interests and learn more about my personal life.It is good so that they will know what kind of person I am.

    The impact is that is shows how many people are there in this world and I realised that it really is not a small world

3.What is your opinion of this app, and why?
   I think this app is great because it makes us realize that a lot of people are using facebook all over the world, and it shows how powerful this platform is.

   Facebook calculates this by knowing who we contacted the most and whose status we liked the most.

2.Do any of the people at the top of your list surprise you?Why do you think they are near the top?
    No one actually surprised me because they are the person I contacted the most.

3.Would you be unhappy/happy to show this list to your facebook friends?
    I will be unhappy as I'm afraid someone will get jealous.

Privacy Settings and Tidying Up

1.What people can see posts that you make in the future?
  Only Specific friends can see my posts.

2. If it is public, are you happy that everyone on Facebook can potentially see everything you write?
  Yes I will be unhappy

3.If its Friends of friends, what are the implications of posting to a relatively large group of people that you may not know?
   It will be the same a posting to public.

4.Who can look you up and can search engines link to your Timeline?Who could potentially see your Timeline if this is set to On?
  Everybody with Internet

5.How many apps are listed as having access to some or all of your data?How many do you remember authorizing?
  73 apps and I remember authorizing all

6.Do you trust all those implications to use your data responsibly?Why?
    I trust it because there are Terms and conditions that we agreed.

7.If one of those applications were bought by another company,would you consider removing the app from facebook?Why?
    I would not remove the app because I believe in facebook to protect me

8.You may want to remove some apps if you will not use them in the future?
